Joining KeepOut – then the Coldingley Crime Diversion Scheme (CCDS) – as a Trustee in 2005, Geoff cemented links between CCDS and the ‘Can Do’ programme devised and delivered by Surrey Youth Justice Service in HMP Coldingley since 2000. As a senior manager with Surrey Youth Justice Service (YJS) he recognised that the strong partnership which had developed was mutually beneficial to both parties, and says: ‘It was this that led to my appointment as a Trustee of KeepOut”.

Geoff’s own experience of working with young people stretches back almost 30 years, encompassing work within the public and voluntary sectors ie youth training, youth work, social work and youth justice. As a manager within the YJS multi disciplinary and multi agency team, he recognises that working in partnership, particularly with the voluntary sector, has grown in importance and continues to do so. “It is uplifting to see the positive outcomes of the hard work of all those involved – the Trustees and staff of KeepOut, Surrey Youth Justice, along with the prisoners – and the change in behaviour of the young people who benefit. I am convinced that KeepOut will continue to grow and develop further.”
