Brian Roberts

First introduced to the Coldingley project in 1997, Brian was particularly impressed both by the obvious impact on young people who attended events at the prison and on the prisoners themselves. He helped devise a new direction for the crime diversion scheme, became a member of the newly-formed management team at the end of 1999 and has been a member ever since. As a Trustee of KeepOut, he advises on strategic development and business planning.

Brian was educated at Reigate Grammar School and the London School of Economics, where he gained an honours degree in sociology. He also has a diploma in criminology. He was a police officer in Surrey Police for 33 years and, on retirement in 1995, became a management consultant.
