Work Placement Scheme – a great success!

Her Majesty’s Prison Latchmere

After successfully completing a one year placement via Her Majesty’s Prison Latchmere, one inmate has secured full-time paid employment with The Damilola Taylor Trust and is working with young people in Peckham and Hackney on a new project called ‘Respect Your Life – Not a Knife’.    

Her Majesty’s Prison Stanford Hill

One inmate is located at Her Majesty’s Prison Stanford Hill in Kent and is working full-time on ROTL with Kingston YOT delivering workshops to young people with acute anger-management and behavioural problems. He has also been offered full-time paid employment with The Damilola Taylor Trust and is expecting to be released in January 2007.

Her Majesty’s Prison Ford

One inmate is located at Her Majesty’s Prison Ford and is now working full-time with Crawley Police on a crime diversion scheme which operates for young people involved in shoplifting and anti-social behaviour. He is involved in running daily crime diversion workshops from within Crawley Police Station supported by PC Lisa Smith and the Youth Crime Reduction Team.
